According to a new rule I just made up, if a woman looks man-ish, she can be a man’s weak twin. While watching America’s Next Top Model tonight, I noticed that contestant Marvita looks a lot like comedian Dave Chappelle.
Tiffany Pollard AKA New York from VH1’s I Love New York looks so much like Janice the Muppet that it’s easy to confuse the two. A simple Google Images search for “janice muppet” yields so many New York/Muppet side-by-side pics that it’s almost unreal. Since the Muppets are classic and Janice is actually far more beautiful than horrible New York, I proclaim New York to be the weak twin of a fictional character made out of felt.
This is going to be a rather long post on the subject of weak twins because it concerns Leo DiCaprio, who happens to have more than one weak twin. In fact, Leo is like the gateway to a 6-degrees-of-weak-twin universe where every male star looks like a version of every other male star.
We’ll start in the present and work backwards. If you look at handsome male stars today, you might come across pics of Grey’s Anatomy star and Rebecca Gayheart spouse Eric Dane sporting a little facial hair and rocking a modern day DiCaprio look. While Dane is older and thus was first, he is still the weak twin because… well, I mean, it’s freakin Leonardo DiCaprio.
If we look back to Leo’s younger days, we might be reminded of indie actor Michael Pitt, star of The Dreamers and Headwig and the Angry Inch.
What’s so weird here is that Michael Pitt looks like a ton of different famous people. In fact a few years ago he played a Kurt Cobain type character in the Gus Van Sant film Last Days.
And on a related tangent… there have been reports that Mr. High School Musical, Zac Efron, will play Cobain in an upcoming film.
I’d strongly hesitate to call Trevor Moore, co-founder of The Whitest Kids U Know, a “weak” twin since he’s both funny and hot, but White Stripes frontman and guitar god Jack White was famous first, so that makes him the stronger twin. I first noticed Moore’s resemblance to White during the earliest promos for WKUK when it was on Fuse. In the promos, advertising the March 20th premiere of the series, Moore’s hair looked darker and he had a slight mustache, making him look quite a bit like White. Of course, now he’s rocking a brand of sexy all his own.
South Park co-creator Trey Parker could have a weak twin in Matt from Beauty and the Geek. In fact, Matt is probably what Trey would look like wearing a “geek” Halloween costume, complete with thick glasses and flat, greasy hair. I can’t wait ’til CW airs the make over episode of BATG and we can see if he looks even more like Trey after they get rid of those glasses and trim his hair.
This one is kind of obvious, but Skeet Ulrich is most certainly Johnny Depp’s weak twin. While it’s hard to use the term “weak” to describe anyone who looks like Depp, I’d definitely say Urlich would be the weaker of the two in terms of hotness. Plus, Johnny Depp’s a legend!
